Moves to Succeed - Dance and Education conference

2Faced Dance Company and Herefordshire Council join forces to present a one day dance education conference relevant to all Key Stages and beyond, featuring practical workshops, inspiring lectures, and performances from 2Faced and children from four Herefordshire Schools. Guest speakers include Kate Prince, Director of the renowned Zoonation UK Dance Company, Clare Woods from Youth Dance England and Lucy Frazer, Director of the Regional Dance Agency Hampshire Dance. 

The conference actively promotes a variety of creative approaches through dance that can be used in or out of the classroom. It will also provide an oportunity to discuss the place of dance in the curriculum and support network opportunities. Practical workshops, providing a range of tools to take with you to your own practice include:

Kate Prince Zoonation Uk Dance Company: The impact of after school and youth dance projects (KS3 & 4 & beyond)

Tamsin Fitzgerald, Founder of 2FacedDance: Practical coping strategies for the classroom (KS 1& 2)
Adrienne Hart, Founder of cross media based dance company Neon
Productions: 1) Dance and Film – A practical workshop designed for young
People (KS3 & 4); 2) Connecting with young people through dance in a digital
age.
 
Lucy Frazer, Director of Hampshire Dance: Dance projects linked to the
Curriculum (KS1-4)

The whole day costs just £75.00 including lunch and coffee at The Courtyard.

Dance / Digital artists required for Gallery 37 2010
Gallery 37 is currently seeking three artists to lead on the delivery of two projects in partnership with mac and Sampad. Gallery 37 Birmingham is an arts training programme. This year 40 unemployed young people will be recruited to work on four projects, for more information please click here.

Dance Training modules in Telford and Shropshire
U.Dance are offering Professional Development Opportunities to teachers and artists in the form ofdance training modules. The modules Raising Choreographic Standards for Dance Performance and Creating Dance for Performance is available for £10 each or £15 for both and will include a whole day of training and a resource pack to take away. There are 25 places available for the modules course and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Money can be paid on the day, please bring correct change.

Professional Development Opportunity – U Dance: Raising Choreographic Standards for Performance

This event will be tied in with a Professional Development Opportunity, which will be heavily subsidised by funding from Youth Dance England. This opportunity will focus on one of the U Dance professional development modules: Raising Choreographic Standards for Performance. This course will be available to teachers and artists for £15 per person, and will include a whole day of training and a resource pack to take away. There are 25 places available for this course, and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The date and venue for this one day course will be confirmed asap.
