DanceXchange is now an official Arts Award Welcome centre.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised scheme that supports young people aged from 11 to 25 to develop as artists and arts professionals. The scheme is run through a partnership of Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall.

Through Arts Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, young people aged 11-25 can explore any of the art forms including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia. The award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities, and prepares them for further education or employment.

DanceXchange is pleased to offer opportunities to Arts Award participants in the following areas:

TAKING PART - Discounted rates on dance classes (a £3.50 rate per class, normally £4 per class)

ENJOYING & APPRECIATING - Discounted ticket offers for dx performances in The Patrick Centre. Many of these performances will have post show talks which are an ideal opportunity to ask questions of the performers and learn more about how a show is put together. N.B. please note this offer is subject to the programme at DanceXchange.

VOLUNTEERING OR WORK PLACEMENT - Young people aged 16+ can volunteer at International Dance Festival Birmingham- to register your interest please email Hannah Sharpe

MEETING ARTS PROFESSIONALS - Staff from DanceXchange can meet with young people to chat about careers in the arts.
